How a FireHand PYT break works
In a FireHand Five Star PYT break, you buy one MLB team and receive every card pulled for that team when the case is opened live.
- Pick your team and buy the spot. Each of the 30 team spots has its own price on the break page.
- The break fills. Pick-your-team breaks load in the store daily between 8 and 9 AM Pacific. You get an email before your break starts.
- It breaks once every spot is sold. FireHand only breaks once every spot is sold. When the last spot sells, the case is opened live on YouTube. Watch on the FireHand Cards YouTube channel or our Live page.
- Your cards ship free. Shipping is free on group breaks. Packages go out every Tuesday and Friday, and international shipping goes out every other Thursday. See shipping.
- See your hits in HEYSTACK. When a break is imaged (many are, not all), hit images show up in HEYSTACK. Create a free HEYSTACK account with the email you use on FireHand Cards.
How team ownership works (multi-team cards and special cases)
These are FireHand’s house rules for every break:
- Cards with more than one MLB team. When a card features players from more than one MLB team, a random draw among the owners of those teams decides who gets the card.
- High-value multi-team cards. When a multi-team card has significant value, FireHand leaves the decision to the team owners involved. They can choose a random draw, sell the card and split the money, have one owner buy out the other(s), or settle it any other way they agree on.
- Cards pairing an MLB player with a non-MLB player. The card goes to the team of the MLB player. For example, the Shohei Ohtani / Sadaharu Oh dual autograph goes to the owner of the team Ohtani is shown with on the card. Oh never played in MLB, so there is no team for him in the break.
- Cut Signatures with no MLB team. Cut signatures with no MLB team (non-baseball figures, or non-players like a commissioner) are randomized among everyone in the break. In 2026 Five Star, that covers cards like JFK, Arnold Palmer and former MLB commissioner Bowie Kuhn.
Cards on Topps’ checklist with more than one MLB team: the Welcome to the Club Dual Auto (Ohtani, Dodgers / Bonds, Giants); Dual Autos of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Blue Jays) / Vladimir Guerrero (Expos, now Nationals) and Kazuma Okamoto (Blue Jays) / Munetaka Murakami (White Sox); and Triple Autos of Kevin McGonigle (Tigers) / JJ Wetherholt (Cardinals) / Konnor Griffin (Pirates), Albert Pujols (Cardinals) / Juan Soto (Mets) / Alex Rodriguez (Yankees), and Roger Clemens (Red Sox) / Nolan Ryan (Angels) / Paul Skenes (Pirates). The nine Cut Signatures with no MLB team are JFK, James Monroe, William McKinley, Arnold Palmer, Jane Goodall, Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Milton Berle and Bowie Kuhn.
What if my team gets nothing?
It can happen. A team can go a whole break without a hit, and FireHand doesn’t currently offer skunk protection. You still earn Firehand Points on every purchase: every $1 you spend on firehandcards.com earns 1 point, and points come off future orders at checkout.
Checklist by team
Topps’ official 2026 Five Star checklist (PDF) and odds sheet (PDF) are both linked from the Topps launch page. The table below gives PYT buyers the team-by-team view: how many different autograph, relic and cut-signature subjects each team has, how many card lines they add up to, and the names that appear most. The counts are checklist lines, not odds, and Topps notes that actual contents and odds may vary.
Checklist per Topps as of Oct 29, 2026; subject to change. See the official checklist.

Why some teams cost more
Team prices follow the checklist and rookie demand. The Yankees and Dodgers have the highest starting price, $699, and spots start at $39. On Topps’ checklist the Yankees have 64 autograph, relic and cut-signature card lines and the Dodgers 44, and rookies such as Munetaka Murakami and Colson Montgomery (White Sox) or Roman Anthony (Red Sox) add demand. A higher price buys more chances, not a guaranteed hit.

Is a break worth it?
A sealed 2026 Topps Five Star Baseball box launched at $1,199.99 and costs that or more to buy now, and it gets you six cards from random teams. FireHand team spots have starting prices of $39 to $699, and a spot gets you every card your team pulls from a full three-box case, which is 15 autographs spread across 30 teams.
The trade-off is certainty. A team spot doesn’t guarantee a hit. A sealed box guarantees five autographs, just not of your team.
A break suits you if you collect one team or one player, want a shot at Five Star’s 1/1s without spending four figures, or like watching the case opened live. A sealed box suits you if you want guaranteed autographs in hand and don’t mind which team they’re from.
FAQ
What comes in a 2026 Topps Five Star Baseball box?
A 2026 Topps Five Star Baseball Hobby box has six packs with one encased card in each: five autographs and one base card or parallel numbered to 50 or less. A three-box case has 15 autographs, and that count includes every type of autograph card in the product, such as on-card autos, autograph relics and cut signatures. The two autograph relics and one color-ink autograph found in every case are part of those 15. The product released October 28, 2026, and launched at $1,199.99 per box on Topps.com.
How many autographs are in a 2026 Topps Five Star Baseball case break?
15. Each box has 5 autographs, and a 3-box case has 15, counting every type of autograph card in the product: on-card autos, autograph relics and patch autos, cut signatures and the rest.
When did 2026 Topps Five Star Baseball release, and what does a box cost?
2026 Topps Five Star Baseball released on October 28, 2026. Topps launched it at $1,199.99 per Hobby box through an EQL raffle with a limit of four per customer, up from $999.99 for 2025. It is Hobby only.
When does a FireHand Five Star break happen?
As soon as every team is sold. FireHand only breaks a case once all of its team spots sell, and then it’s opened live on YouTube.
Which teams are best in 2026 Topps Five Star Baseball?
By checklist depth, the Yankees have the most: 64 autograph, relic and cut-signature card lines across 31 players on Topps’ checklist. The Braves and Red Sox follow with 45 each, then the Dodgers (44) and Mets (37). Checklist per Topps as of Oct 29, 2026; subject to change. More lines mean more chances at an autograph, but every card is numbered and randomly inserted, so no team is guaranteed a hit.
How does a 2026 Topps Five Star Baseball PYT break work?
In a pick-your-team (PYT) Five Star break, you buy one MLB team and receive every card pulled for that team when the case is opened live. Each team has its own price based on how much it has on the checklist and how in-demand its players are. At FireHand, the 3-box case break has 30 team spots, breaks live on YouTube once every team is sold, and ships your cards for free.
What happens if a card has two or more teams on it?
A random draw among the owners of those teams decides who gets the card. If the card has significant value, FireHand lets the team owners decide together: run a random draw, sell the card and split the money, have one owner buy out the other(s), or anything else they agree on. This is FireHand’s rule for every break.
Who gets the Shohei Ohtani / Sadaharu Oh dual autograph?
The owner of the team Ohtani is shown with on the card. Oh never played in MLB, so there is no team for him in the break, and any card pairing an MLB player with a non-MLB player goes to the MLB player’s team.
Who gets Cut Signature cards with no MLB team, like JFK, Arnold Palmer or Bowie Kuhn?
Cut signatures with no MLB team (non-baseball figures, or non-players like a commissioner) are randomized among everyone in the break, so every participant has a chance at them, whatever team they bought. In 2026 Five Star that includes JFK, Arnold Palmer and former MLB commissioner Bowie Kuhn.
Why do some teams cost more in a Five Star break?
Team prices follow the checklist. Teams with more autograph subjects and stronger rookies have more chances at a valuable card. On Topps’ 2026 Five Star checklist, the Yankees have 64 autograph, relic and cut-signature card lines, and the Yankees have the highest starting price, $699, with spots starting at $39. A higher price buys more chances, not a guaranteed hit.
Where can I watch the break, and when do my cards ship?
Every FireHand break streams live on the FireHand Cards YouTube channel, and you get an email before your break starts. Shipping is free on group breaks. Packages go out every Tuesday and Friday, and international orders ship every other Thursday.
What if my team doesn’t get a hit?
A team can go a whole case without a hit, and FireHand doesn’t currently offer skunk protection. Every $1 you spend on firehandcards.com earns 1 Firehand Point, which you can redeem at checkout on future purchases.
